Luka Štigl is a writer, director, producer and co-founder of Squareme video production agency.
He also spent 7 years working as a senior promo producer for the biggest local media company – Pro Plus.


As one of the early adopters of web video, he started his career among the first generation of Youtube creators in Slovenia.
In the last 10 years he has established himself in the field of advertising, working with most of the major local agencies such as Pristop, Luna\TBWA, Publicis, ImagoBold, Saatchi & Saatchi, Internavti, YooTree, Herman & Partnerji and more. He directed over a 100 TV and web commercials and campaigns for leading brands such as Telekom, BMW, Union, Renault, Hofer, Lidl, Mercator, Lek, Microsoft, Wolt, Studio Moderna, NLB and others.

He is also active outside of the marketing field, with his authorial work in film & TV. His latest film project - '91 has been shown in festivals across Europe, recieving many awards. The series Truplo, which he wrote and directed was the highest rated Slovenian TV show on iMDB at the time of its release, receiving a second season deal on the streaming service - VOYO.

He also worked with some of Slovenia's most popular music artists, their colaborations generating over 20 million views in the last 5 years and the most viewed music video in Slovenian language. He also wrote and directed campaigns for more than 20 European markets.

Trusted also by the TV industry, he directed a series of in-house ads for the leading TV station - POP TV, promoting their prime time shows, such as Big Brother, Gostilna išče šefa, Kmetija as well as their news portal 24ur.com.

He is a seasoned author, with experience reaching beyond just advertising. He is trusted both by the marketing and production industry and can offer a wider understanding of the production and creative process by combining his knowledge from producing, directing and writing, enabling him to construct better and more creative stories.  

But most of all – he is modest (and totally didn’t write all of this himself).
